‘Birds Flying East’, fundraising and documentary project by AIDx10
In 2022, I was displaced by the full-scale invasion of russia. From the beginning, I became involved in grassroots support efforts, helping to evacuate people through the K41 community fund and working with my family to deliver humanitarian aid to the Kyiv region shortly after its de-occupation. As the war continued, the urgency of charity work deepened, with close friends and community members joining the armed forces, some of whom have since lost their lives defending our homes and freedom.
In 2023, I co-founded AIDx10, a female-led volunteer collective rooted in music, culture, and activism. Since its inception, AIDx10 has transformed a cultural network into an active support system for Ukraine’s ongoing fight. Operating independently at a grassroots level, we are not tied to any funds or governmental organisations. We work directly with trusted frontline units, supplying critical equipment for evacuation, reconnaissance, and logistics, focusing on what is most urgently needed to save lives.
Working without bureaucratic layers allows us to respond quickly and effectively. To date, we have raised over €100,000 through collaborations with clubs, venues, and artists worldwide, delivering nine large-scale fundraising and awareness campaigns.
